PEI Fashion Week is a high-fashion event dedicated to helping
charities through showcasing island talent. Get ready for the triumphant return of PEI Fashion Week! After a spectacularly
successful first year in 2007, the island organization will be hosting another great night of high culture in its showcase of talented
islanders. The focus of the event is to put local artists, singers, and actors in touch with agents from large companies and metropolitan
areas that are looking for the stars of tomorrow.
PEI Fashion Week is a non-profit event and all proceeds will go to a special charity
to help someone in the local community. This year, the Children's Wish Foundation of Prince Edward Island has been chosen as the
organization to which a financial contribution will be made. At the end of the night, there will be a public presentation of the funds that
were raised for the foundation, in the hope that it will fully finance the entire wish of a child in need.
PEI Fashion Week is run by a group of volunteer executives and directors who start planning months beforehand by brain storming
and putting all of the necessary print material together. These volunteers not only work hard to make PEI Fashion Week happen, they also
maintain their everyday jobs. The hours are long, and it can be frustrating sometimes, but they all agree that it is well worth the effort
and that their payment will be the satisfaction of seeing the final contribution publicly presented at the event itself.
The PEI Fashion Week main event will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Placing
the event in the capital allows for easier access of supplies and resources and will allow for a larger venue.
The PEI Fashion Week organizers hope that Islanders will help to make this year’s event yet another success so that a special
child can have his or her wish come true and that some lucky, talented islanders will have the opportunity to follow their dreams.
